Job Description:

We are seeking an Industrial Automation Application Engineer to join Osprey Engineering Solutions in Preston, Lancashire. The ideal candidate must be a full UK citizen residing and working in the UK, with relevant experience in industrial automation support, including electric drives, pneumatics, control systems, and PLC programming.

This role offers the opportunity to work remotely within the South East UK, supporting industrial automation projects with a focus on commissioning, software, and control functionalities. The Application Engineer will provide technical consulting, develop detailed designs, specify solutions, and support project realization from pre-sales to commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Translating multi-technological solutions into detailed designs across pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Assessing technical feasibility and preparing specification lists and technical proposal elements.
• Collaborating with customers to create requirement specifications.
• Managing project deadlines and ensuring successful project execution.
• Reporting project activities and maintaining accurate data in company systems.
• Handling customer complaints and developing action plans.
• Discussing and optimizing machine concepts, defining specifications.
• Supporting account planning and pre-sales activities as the interface between customers and internal departments.
• Providing technical training and knowledge transfer to team members.
• Ensuring compliance with norms and regulations.
• Supporting project wins and managing commissioning activities at customer sites.
