Industrial Automation Application Engineer – South East UK, you must live within this area.

Please note: You must be a full UK citizen living and working in the UK to be considered for this opportunity. You must also have relevant industrial automation application support experience covering electric drives, pneumatics, control systems, and PLC programming.

This is a great opportunity to join one of the leading industrial automation equipment suppliers, as an Application Engineer covering South East UK. The successful candidate will be required to live in the South East area of the UK. This is a work-from-home role.

The Application Engineer is an expert providing the best technical consulting and solutions for key Industrial Automation applications to the Sales Teams during the pre-sales phase across different industry segments of the company, while considering commercial factors. They will also support assigned projects. As each Application Engineer has their own specific field of expertise, commissioning, software, and controls functionalities are the required fields for this role.

Key Aspects Of The Role :

• Independently translate multi-technological solutions into detailed designs in the fields of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and software solutions using the latest technologies.
• Assess the technical feasibility of proposals based on knowledge of the relevant Industry/Technology Segment.
• Responsible for creating specification lists and writing the technical elements for customer proposals.
• Develop Requirement Specifications together with the customer.
• Ensure deadlines are met and oversee the realization of projects.
• Report all relevant activities and developments related to projects and ensure proper management of project data.
• Handle complaints by setting up action plans for the complaint desk if necessary.
• Discuss machine concepts to optimize performance, define specifications, and develop concepts.
• Support the drafting of account plans.
• Act as an interface between the customer and relevant company departments during the pre-sales phase, always in coordination with the sales engineer, for specific applications.
• Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to the team for specific products and applications within the relevant industry segment.
• Support compliance with norms and regulations.
• Identify and support the winning of projects.
• Manage the commissioning of projects at customer sites, coordinating technical activities.
• Support marketing campaigns and promotional activities within the company.
