Job summary

Refugee Action is seeking a permanent, full-time Communications/Content role based in the UK, with a hybrid working option. You will develop engaging copy for campaigns, manage content calendars, and support data entry in CRM systems.

The role emphasises collaboration across teams and a strong understanding of refugee-related issues. The position offers a starting salary of £31,022 with potential progression to £33,699 plus London weighting, depending on location and length of service.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to develop engaging and motivating copy for campaigns and content.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate across teams to achieve cross-cutting objectives.
• Experience using Excel (charts/tables) and Raiser's Edge or similar databases to enter data.

Responsibilities

• Develop compelling copy for campaigns, websites and fundraising materials.
• Coordinate with teams to plan content calendars and deliver on deadlines.
• Maintain and update CRM records and data portals as required.
• Contribute to design or illustration tasks using Canva or Adobe tools when needed.

Contract: Permanent basis
Hours: Full-Time 35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks)

Refugee Action exists to work with refugees and people seeking asylum who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes. We are a national charity with more than 40 years’ experience of empowering people who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes to secure the protection and support that they need to live with dignity and respect and build a new life in the UK. We do this by providing expert advice and casework, building the capacity of partner organisations and campaigning on the policies that affect them.

To succeed in the role you will need to demonstrate:

• Passion for and experience in developing engaging and motivating copy writing and content.
• Strong planning, time management and organisational skills with experience to demonstrate ability to successfully work to tight deadlines and prioritise between numerous projects.
• Ability to build and nurture excellent working relationships across teams in the organisation to collaborate and achieve cross cutting objectives.
• Experience of using Excel (including creating charts and tables) and databases (for example, Raisers Edge) to enter data
• Any experience using CRM and online content portals such as WordPress, Engaging Networks, Campaign Monitor or similar
• Any experience in design or illustration (using adobe suite tools such as InDesign, Illustrator or similar like Canva )
• Insight into the needs, experiences and hopes of refugees and asylum seekers, refused asylum seekers and irregular migrants in the UK.
• Commitment to removing barriers to power for people with lived experience, and commitment to anti-racist practices.
• Understanding of how the UK’s hostile refugee protection and asylum system impacts those affected by it.

Salary:

£31,022 starting salary (salary range will increase to max £33,699 via the length of service). Plus £4,324 Inner London Weighting if based in London per annum.
