Job Description

Join AECOM, a global leader in infrastructure consulting, as an Indirect Tax Technology & Automation Specialist in London. In this role, you will focus on implementing, maintaining, and optimizing indirect tax technology systems, including tax engines and compliance software, to support our international operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and documentation of tax automation and reporting tools (e.g., Vertex O, VITR, SAF-T, Real-Time Reporting, e-invoicing).
  2. Support ERP integrations, especially with Oracle R12, including requirements gathering, solution design, and fit-gap analysis.
  3. Develop and manage testing scenarios to ensure comprehensive tax coverage during system implementations.
  4. Assess and improve data flows and processes related to indirect tax compliance.
  5. Utilize data analytics tools like Power BI to enhance tax activities' efficiency.
  6. Design and implement workflows using Alteryx to streamline tax processes and analytics.
  7. Maintain production tax systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement updates.
  8. Support e-invoicing and real-time reporting compliance solutions.
  9. Provide training and develop expertise in tax software systems.
  10. Collaborate with Tax, Finance, and IT teams on various tax technology projects.
  11. Document requirements, share knowledge, and assist with testing overlapping system requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (CPA, CA, etc.) are a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax technology, especially indirect tax systems (VAT/GST).
  • Experience with tax engines like Vertex O, VITR, and ERP systems, particularly Oracle R12.
  • Proficiency with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience with workflows using Alteryx or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of electronic invoicing, SAF-T, and real-time reporting solutions.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments.
  • Experience in process documentation and training.
  • Project management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
