Job summary

GSF Car Parts in Wolverhampton is seeking a Buyer to support the Indirect Procurement function, driving cost-effective and compliant sourcing across the business. The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers on RFQs, onboarding, contract admin, SRM and ESG initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong IT skills including Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Interest in procurement and supply chain with a desire to develop professionally.
• CIPS qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards CIPS is desirable.
• Experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain environment (preferred).
• Good numerical skills and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Customer service mindset with focus on continuous improvement.
• Awareness of how systems, data and AI tools can be used to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day purchasing activity across indirect spend categories and manage the shared mailbox.
• Lead sourcing exercises, including RFQs, supplier comparisons and cost analysis.
• Deliver cost down against an annual cost reduction plan and efficiency targets.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure timely supply.
• Manage supplier onboarding, compliance documents and maintain records.
• Negotiate and prepare contracts using templated terms and conditions.
• Lead supplier performance monitoring and SRM activities for allocated categories.
• Manage invoice queries and work with Suppliers and Finance to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure business-wide compliance with procurement processes.
• Support use of systems and AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
• Reduce tail spend and rationalise suppliers.
• Assist in the delivery of ESG workstreams to support GSF's ESG strategy.
