Job summary

CIH International Housing Group in Macclesfield is seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer to support Children\'s Social Care. You will chair cared for children\'s reviews or CP conference meetings and oversee related meetings, ensuring safeguarding and timely care planning.

You will monitor performance as a corporate parent, act on child needs, and collaborate with partners to deliver services compliant with legislation.

Responsibilities

• Chair cared for children's reviews or CP conference meetings.
• Monitor the Local Authority's performance as a corporate parent.
• Make recommendations addressing a child's needs, including the child's views.
• Alert senior management to failures in case review and timescale adherence.
• Report on positive practices and contribute to service improvements.
• Collaborate with partners, agencies, service users and carers for coordinated services.
• Engage in service development activities, including audits and evaluations.
• Utilise information systems to provide data for the authority and statutory requirements.

What you will do:

• Chair cared for children's reviews or CP conference meetings and oversee other related meetings as required by the Safeguarding Unit.
• Monitor the Local Authority's performance as a corporate parent, ensuring the implementation and appropriateness of care plans.
• Make recommendations for actions needed to address a child's needs, always considering and including the child's views.
• Alert senior management to any failures in case review or timescale adherence and address instances of poor practice using appropriate channels.
• Report on positive practices while contributing to the enhancement of services for children under protection plans.
• Collaborate with partners, agencies, service users, and carers to ensure coordinated services compliant with legislation and best practices.
• Engage in service development activities, including audits and evaluations, to drive continuous improvements in service delivery.
• Utilise information systems effectively, ensuring they are used correctly to provide necessary data for the authority and statutory requirements.
