Job summary

CIH International Housing Group seeks an Independent Reviewing Officer in Ellesmere Port within the Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Team of Children's Social Care. The role offers £30.91 per hour on an ongoing basis with the option of Full Time or Part Time work.

Chair Looked After Children Reviews and scrutinise care and permanence planning, ensuring children's views drive decisions. Join a supportive team focused on safeguarding and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have a Degree in Social Work or an equivalent recognised social work qualification.
• Must maintain current registration with Social Work England.
• Evidence of continuing professional development in safeguarding and children in care.
• Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.

Responsibilities

• Chair statutory Looked After Children Reviews in line with legislation and timescales.
• Scrutinise care, permanence and pathway planning to meet children's needs.
• Involve children and young people in reviews, capturing their views and feelings.
• Monitor the Local Authority's performance as a Corporate Parent and challenge practice.

• Chair statutory Looked After Children Reviews in line with legislative requirements and timescales.

Person Specification

• Possess a Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised social work qualification.
