CIH International Housing Group is seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer in Worcester to support statutory care planning for Looked After Children. This locum, part-time role offers flexibility to tailor assignments while ensuring high-quality safeguarding standards.

The post requires a Social Work degree, current registration with Social Work England, and ongoing professional development in children's safeguarding.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fulfil the statutory duties of the Independent Reviewing Officer in accordance with the Care Planning Regulations and IRO Handbook.
• Chair Looked After Children (LAC) Reviews, ensuring plans are outcome-focused, timely, and centred on the child's needs and wishes.
• Monitor the implementation of care plans, identify drift, delay, or unmet needs, and ensure appropriate escalation where required.
• Ensure children and young people are fully involved in review processes and that their views are recorded, represented, and acted upon.

Education

Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work

Current registration with Social Work England

Evidence of continuous professional development relevant to children's social care and safeguarding
