Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Team in Ellesmere Port. This ongoing role offers the flexibility of Full Time or Part Time work and pays £30.91 per hour.

You will chair Looked After Children Reviews, scrutinise care and permanence planning, and ensure children's views drive decisions. A Social Work degree, current Social Work England registration, and ongoing CPD in safeguarding are essential, with

Responsibilities

• Chair statutory Looked After Children Reviews in line with legislative requirements and timescales.
• Independently scrutinise care, permanence and pathway planning to ensure children's needs are met.
• Ensure children actively participate in reviews with their views guiding decisions.
• Monitor the Local Authority's performance as a Corporate Parent and challenge practices if needed.

Person Specification

• Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care, especially with looked after children, permanence planning, and safeguarding services.
