Job summary

Bournemouth Borough Council is seeking a part-time Support Worker to assist a 26-year-old woman with autism spectrum condition and mobility issues. The role is based in the individual's Broadstone home, focusing on independent living skills and gentle prompting with daily tasks.

You will build a trusting relationship, provide companionship, assist with daily activities, and encourage community outings, crafts, and gentle exercises under supervision. Driving licence and car access are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship to help the individual with social skills.
• Engage with the individual to enjoy crafts, games and puzzles at home.
• Help with domestic tasks such as basic housework, shopping, preparing meals and baking.
• Encourage walking, trips to town and other places of interest.
• Help with admin tasks such as processing mail, job applications, etc.
• Help and encourage the individual to do her physiotherapy exercises, stretches and Pilates.
