Job summary

Hatched Recruitment Group is seeking a compassionate Residential Support Worker to help adults with severe and enduring mental health needs in a residential setting. You will support daily living activities, promote independence, and safeguard wellbeing.

You will monitor health, report changes, work with colleagues, follow support plans, and cover housekeeping duties as needed. Experience with mental health is desirable; a caring, patient approach and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for people with mental health needs is desirable.
• A caring, patient and understanding approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to recognise changes in behaviour, mental state and wellbeing.
• Commitment to promoting independence, dignity and safety.
• Ability to follow support plans and safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support service users with daily living activities in line with their individual support plans.
• Encourage independence, participation and involvement in the wider community.
• Monitor mental health, assess risks to the individual and others, and support risk management plans.
• Recognise and report changes or deterioration in health and wellbeing of service users.
• Work closely with colleagues and other professionals to provide consistent, effective support.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties when required, including covering for the housekeeper.
