Job summary

5 Star Recruitment is seeking a care and support worker to help individuals live independently and make informed choices while respecting dignity and rights. You will devise and implement person-centred care plans, review progress, and respond to safeguarding needs.

The role involves shifts including bank holidays, weekends, nights, and potential sleeping-in duties, with responsibilities for medication, record-keeping, health and safety, and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Support service users/tenants to express themselves and make informed choices about their lives with dignity and rights.
• Devise and implement individual care and/or support plans with risk assessments.
• Follow and review care plans with the service user and record progress.
• Assist in delivering support to service users who may present behavioural challenges.
• Key holding including coordinating shift staff, administering medications and handling money.
• Safeguard adults and/or children who need care and support and are at risk of abuse or neglect.
• Maintain service user records and share confidentially to provide consistent care.
• Maintain health and safety and day-to-day records of financial transactions and administration; using IT/industry systems.
• Enable service users to make informed choices through joint reviews of care plans and risk assessments.
• Maintain a safe and healthy physical environment for service users and colleagues; infection control policies and training.
• Respond to health and safety issues and implement emergency procedures where necessary.
• Work on rota/shift system, including Bank Holidays and weekends and which may include night-time working and sleeping-in duties.
• Adhere to mandatory vaccination requirements for the role; providing evidence of exemptions where applicable.
