Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for the Independent Living Service. The role focuses on enabling independence in homes through equipment, adaptations and environmental design, working with both adults and children.

You will assess needs, collaborate with housing, health and social care colleagues, and contribute to life-changing outcomes in residents' daily living.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is essential.
• Passionate about enabling independence and home adaptations.
• Ability to problem-solve and use clinical reasoning in community settings.
• Interest in housing adaptations, equipment and environmental design.

Responsibilities

• Assess and recommend equipment, assistive tech and housing adaptations.
• Influence adaptation projects such as level access showers and stairlifts.
• Design solutions to maximise independence and quality of life.
• Collaborate with housing, health and social care colleagues.
• Support adults and children across a diverse caseload.
• Deliver person-centred, strengths-based interventions.
