Job summary

The Brick Company in Leigh is a growing charity focused on relief, restoration and reformation for people facing housing insecurity. This role identifies future housing options, creates action plans, and develops intensive support with key partners to promote independent living.

You will work in a trauma-informed way, support tenancy readiness, manage referrals, and coordinate with housing and social services to help clients progress within the community.

Qualifications

• Ability to network and work across multi-agency contexts in the Wigan Borough.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Understand complex needs and how support can be facilitated for those most vulnerable.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; evidence outcomes with case management databases.
• Can-do attitude and willingness to undertake a varied workload.
• Resilient and able to handle challenging behaviour.
• Empathy with individuals while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Understanding of homelessness and related support needs (drugs, alcohol, mental health).
• Awareness of key public health messages relating to contagious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Identify future housing options and produce an action plan.
• Develop an intensive support package with partners for sustainable move on.
• Help individuals manage finances and budgeting for independent living.
• Manage referrals and inductions; input data into work management system.
• Support people in a trauma-informed way to build skills and confidence for tenancy readiness.
• Oversee building operations and ensure adherence to policies; issue warnings when needed.
• Collaborate with Greater Manchester agencies to act in residents' best interests.
• Ensure safety, engagement, and progress towards personal goals.
