Foster Care Associates (The FCA) in Wales invites applications for the role of Independent Fostering Panel Vice Chair. The appointed person will chair panel meetings, ensure independence, and guide decision-making on approvals and reviews of foster carers.

Candidates should bring direct care or education experience, or a background in social care, police, health, or law, and must meet statutory independence requirements. Panel meetings occur monthly, with £300 per panel attended, incl.

• Direct care experience in fostering or social care settings.
• Education experience in relevant fields.
• Experience as a foster parent or adopter/adoptee.
• Background in police, education, health, law, social work or social care sectors.

Responsabilidades

• Consider applications for approval and advise on suitability of foster parents.
• Monitor and advise on panel review procedures for foster parents.
• Make recommendations on fostering regulations matters.
• Attend and participate in panel meetings; read papers in advance.
• Prepare for meetings; identify key issues and inform the Chair.
• Contribute to case deliberations and evidence-based recommendations.
• Ensure respectful treatment of attendees; address diversity.
• Safeguard confidentiality of panel papers.
• Chair panel meetings when required; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Attend quarterly quality assurance meetings with management.
