Job summary

Aberlour is seeking an Independent Form F Assessor to undertake Form F assessments for prospective Foster Carers across Scotland. The role is home-based with access to offices for meetings and involves travel to engage with carers and agencies.

You will work under Aberlour Fostering’s policies to produce high-quality reports within set timeframes, and you will be self-employed, offering flexibility to balance other commitments.

Qualifications

• Have a recognised social work qualification.
• Register and maintain an appropriate professional registration with the SSSC as a social worker.
• Have experience of working within Children's services.
• Have an understanding of fostering and the current legislation framework.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Have experience of Fostering Network Transfer Protocol.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive Form F assessments of prospective Foster Carers in accordance with fostering legislation and Aberlour Fostering policies.
• Ensure high-quality, evidence-based reports are presented to the fostering panel within required timeframes.
• Operate as a self-employed assessor balancing other commitments as needed.
