Job summary

Vetro Recruitment in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to support high-risk victims and work within a multi-agency team.

The role involves risk assessments, safety planning, crisis support both by phone and in person, and assisting with legal processes.

A recognised IDVA qualification or willingness to work towards one, plus a driving licence and access to a vehicle, are required; salary is £25,100 per annum.

Qualifications

• recognised IDVA qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing high-level domestic abuse support.
• Good knowledge of relevant legislation relating to domestic abuse and safeguarding.
• Experience working with adults at risk with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of high-risk victims, including those at imminent risk of harm or homicide.
• Conducting risk assessments and developing personalised safety plans to protect victims and their children.
• Working closely with multi-agency teams, including MARAC, to coordinate safety interventions and advocate on behalf of victims.
• Providing crisis support, advice, and guidance over the phone and face-to-face, ensuring victims are empowered to regain control of their lives.
• Supporting victims through legal processes, including civil and criminal proceedings, and explaining their rights and options.
• Maintaining accurate case records, support plans, and risk assessments in line with organisational policies.
• Promoting awareness of domestic abuse issues and engaging with community and professional networks to enhance service delivery.
