Job summary

Red Snapper Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) for frontline support to high-risk victims. The role requires a valid driving license and use of your own vehicle to travel across Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley.

The successful candidate will deliver crisis intervention, advocacy and safety planning within a multi-agency framework, attending MARACs and court proceedings when required. A relevant IDVA accreditation or equivalent is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting high-risk victims of domestic abuse.
• Strong risk assessment, crisis management and safety planning skills.
• Confident working within a multi-agency safeguarding framework.
• Empathy, professionalism and resilience when supporting individuals experiencing trauma.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise and manage high-risk domestic abuse cases, delivering crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments using recognised evidence-based tools.
• Provide one-to-one advocacy, advice and practical support via telephone and face-to-face appointments.
• Develop tailored safety plans to protect victims and their children.
• Prepare and present reports to MARAC and attend multi-agency meetings.
• Advocate with housing, legal, welfare, health and criminal justice agencies to secure outcomes.
• Support clients attending criminal and civil court proceedings when required.
• Facilitate group sessions to raise awareness and empower survivors.
• Maintain accurate, confidential case records in line with safeguarding and GDPR.
