Job summary

Ward Security is seeking a Contract Support Officer in London to provide independent security coverage on a one-person site. The role requires a valid SIA licence and a minimum of one year of security experience within a corporate environment.

You will deliver professional customer service, write clear incident reports and respond quickly to emergencies. The position offers day, night and weekend shifts with pay at £14.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence.
• Proven work experience as a Security Officer (minimum 1 year).
• Minimum 1 year's experience within a corporate security environment.
• Experience working independently and/or on one-person security sites.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Ability to work confidently on own initiative.
• Ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary.
• Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
• 5-year checkable work history.
• IT literate with the ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
• Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents.
• Ability to make sound decisions independently and escalate issues appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Act as a point of contact and information centre for staff and visitors.
• Ensure all visitors and other callers to the company are provided with clear, concise and professional information in person, over the phone or by email.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the site.
• Take responsibility for the security of the site while working independently.
• Report any issues to the supervisor or duty manager.
• Always conduct yourself in a professional manner.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents.
• Deal with conflict in an appropriate and professional manner when required.
• Write up incidents to the standard expected by Management.
• Carry out ID checks.
• Remain vigilant to Health and Safety risks and report any concerns.
• Monitor the site and identify any suspicious activity or potential security risks.
• Work proactively and confidently on own initiative.
• Ensure that the reception area, foyer, staff area and boardroom are kept clean by supervising cleaning staff members.
