Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking an experienced Band 2 Community Phlebotomist based at Sheppey Community Hospital. The role involves visiting patients in their homes across the local community to perform venipuncture and obtain blood samples.

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification is required.
• Previous phlebotomy experience.
• Venipuncture training demonstrated.
• Ability to work independently in the community.
• Experience in health or social care is beneficial.
• Strong communication with patients and carers.
• Proficient IT skills for record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients in their homes to perform venipuncture and collect blood samples.
• Provide a compassionate, professional experience for patients.
• Ensure correct patient identification and proper sample labelling.
• Plan and manage daily workload; travel efficiently between appointments.
• Perform phlebotomy independently within competence level.
• Escalate concerns to senior colleague or GP when needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality.
