Job summary

RG Consultancy Ltd in Rochdale is recruiting for a Senior Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper on a full-time basis. You will join a small team and report into the Finance Manager, handling day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT returns, and month-end processes.

The role requires 5+ years in bookkeeping/accounting, with Sage 50 experience and strong Excel skills. On-site with pension, holidays and flexible hours support the work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an all-around accounts or bookkeeper role.
• AAT qualification or studying towards desirable.
• Strong IT skills including MS Excel and accounting software.
• Experience in wholesale, distribution or retail environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records.
• Process invoices, credit notes, payments and receipts.
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable; prompt invoicing.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with month-end procedures.
• Produce management reports: P&L, balance sheet and aged debtor/creditor.
