Job summary

Qualifications

  • This role requires a degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
  • 3 years post-qualifying experience in children's social work, including adoption experience.
  • Understanding of looked-after children and adoption processes.
  • Commitment to diversity and respectful practice.
  • Ability to attend panel meetings and training as required.

Responsibilities

  • Read circulated papers before panel meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Attend at least one panel per month; each panel lasts 3.5 hours.
  • Prepare two pre-panel questions per case within deadlines.
  • Participate in making recommendations based on available information.
  • Attend meetings as specified in the member agreement with the agency.
  • Be prepared to take on additional panels when reasonably possible.
  • Uphold Adopt South's equality, fairness, and anti-discriminatory values.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of panel papers and discussions.
  • Participate in induction and training (minimum one day per year).
  • Contribute to annual review of panel membership.
