Job summary

Adoption West in the Wiltshire area seeks a part-time social worker to provide advice and support to adoptive families, assess support needs, and work with children and families with complex needs. The role involves delivering therapeutic support directly or via ASD/ASF applications, and contributing to ongoing service development.

Flexible working arrangements, including job shares, remain part of the role, with an office base in the Adoption West region and home working options.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to children in care.
• Experience with assessments, reports and plans for vulnerable children.
• Ability to work with complex cases and multiagency partners.

Responsibilities

• Assess adopters and arrange matching and placements for adoption.
• Provide support to adopters during and after approval.
• Contribute to development and training of adopters.
• Lead birth records counselling and access to birth records for adopted adults.
