Job summary

Oxford City Council is seeking an Income Recovery Officer to join the Income Team. The role focuses on proactively managing customer accounts to maximise the Council's income and resolve issues before they escalate to debt.

You will handle housing rent accounts, implement effective collection actions, and negotiate sustainable repayment plans. You may also represent the Council in Possession court and other debt enforcement proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of housing rent accounts and take appropriate action under the Council's Income Collection Policies and Procedures.
• Provide a comprehensive income collection service to all Council customers.
• Resolve customer issues to prevent debt and negotiate sustainable repayment plans.
• Advise customers to maximise their income.
• Represent the Council at Court in Possession and other enforcement proceedings relating to debt.

We're looking for an Income Recovery Officer to join the Income Team. If you're proactive and customer focused, then we want to hear from you. We are looking for a suitable candidate who, through the effective and proactive management of customer accounts, can contribute to the maximisation of the Council's income.

Working as part of the income collection team to provide a comprehensive income collection service to all customers of the Council, you will be required to deal with a caseload of housing rent accounts and take the appropriate action in accordance with the Council's Income Collection Policies and Procedures.

This will include resolving customer issues to prevent debt, negotiating with customers on sustainable repayment plans and providing advice to maximise customer's income. There is also a requirement to represent the Council at Court in Possession and other enforcement proceedings relating to debt.
