Job summary

Sense is seeking a caring and motivated Support Worker for Sense College Streatley, supporting young people and adults with complex disabilities to access learning, develop independence and enjoy everyday life. The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:45pm, with a salary of £13 per hour.

You will provide person-centred support, help learners participate in activities, and assist with mobility, health and wellbeing while encouraging independence and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Previous caring or support experience (personal, voluntary or professional).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication style adaptable to individuals.
• Willingness to develop new communication skills such as signs and symbols.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support tailored to each learner and their support plan.
• Help learners participate in meaningful activities, develop independence and communication.
• Support mobility, health and wellbeing and personal care as needed.
• Encourage learners to communicate and engage with the local community.
