Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking an enthusiastic Assistive and Learning Technologist to promote digital inclusion and enhance student learning. You will support students and staff in using assistive technologies and digital tools to improve accessibility and engagement.

You will work across curriculum and support areas, delivering training, developing guidance materials, and helping staff embed inclusive practices. A forward-looking role exploring AI, VR and immersive learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners and colleagues in a technology-focused environment.
• Strong understanding of assistive technologies to improve accessibility and participation in education.
• Experience supporting a range of digital learning systems and technologies.
• Confident in delivering training and guidance to staff and students on specialist software and digital tools.
• Experience producing guidance materials, learning resources or digital content for technology adoption.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice, training and guidance on assistive technologies and digital learning tools.
• Support students with additional learning needs to access learning through technology-based solutions.
• Help staff embed accessible and inclusive practices within teaching.
• Contribute to development of digital skills and adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, VR and immersive learning.
