Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking an enthusiastic Assistive and Learning Technologist to promote digital inclusion and enhance student learning by using assistive technologies and digital tools across the curriculum.

You will train staff, support students with additional learning needs to access learning via technology, and help embed accessible practices while exploring AI, VR and immersive learning to raise engagement and achievement.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting learners and colleagues within a technology-focused environment.
• Strong understanding of assistive technologies and how they improve accessibility and participation in education.
• Experience producing guidance materials, learning resources or digital content to support technology adoption and engagement.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for staff, students and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice, training and guidance on the effective use of assistive technologies and digital learning tools.
• Support students with additional learning needs to access learning through technology-based solutions.
• Help staff embed accessible and inclusive practices within their teaching.
• Contribute to the development of digital skills and the adoption of emerging technologies including AI, VR and immersive learning.
