Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for South Tyneside College on a full-time, temporary basis. You will provide tailored support to students, including those with SEND, across classroom and workshop settings to help build confidence and independence.

Working with teaching staff, you’ll deliver inclusive learning activities, monitor progress and offer practical help to learners of various ages. DBS clearance will be required and safeguarding is a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or adults in education, training or support.
• Understanding of SEND and additional learning needs.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored learning support to students in classroom, workshop and practical learning environments.

• Encourage students to participate actively and develop independence.

Contract: Full-time, Temporary (ongoing)

Salary: £14.91 £16.28 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role

The Supply Register is seeking passionate, dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join South Tyneside College on a full-time, temporary basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference to students by providing tailored support to learners with a range of additional learning needs. As an LSA, you will play an important role in creating an inclusive, positive and supportive learning environment, helping students overcome barriers and achieve their academic, personal and progression goals.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will provide support across classroom, small-group and one-to-one settings, adapting your approach to meet individual learner needs. You will help students develop confidence, independence and essential skills, enabling them to make meaningful progress throughout their learning programme.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for individuals who are caring, patient and committed to helping learners reach their potential. You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working with young people or adults within an educational, training or support environment.

• An understanding of SEND and additional learning needs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A patient, caring and supportive approach.

• The ability to build positive relationships with learners and colleagues.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications.
