Job summary

Bankside College, a new venture near Hanley Castle, Worcester, in partnership with Outcomes First Group and Options Autism, seeks a Learning Support Mentor to deliver person-centred education for learners aged 16 to 24 with autism and complex needs.

You will support teachers to access curriculum, provide 1:1 and group assistance, help create a safe learning environment, maintain records and contribute to student plans, while upholding safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

  • Driving licence required.
  • Experience in SEN, autism support or education is beneficial, but attitude and willingness to learn matter most.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers/tutors to deliver high-quality education and ensure safeguarding standards are followed.
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and group support to help students access the curriculum and develop independence.
  • Assist in creating a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment and organise resources and spaces.
  • Contribute to student documentation (BSPs, Risk Assessments, IEPs, EHCPs, Communication Profiles, Pastoral Plans).
  • Support students' personal care, feeding and emotional needs, and help manage challenging behaviour with positive approaches.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, care staff and families to ensure consistency in education and wellbeing.
  • Maintain records in line with company and regulatory requirements and stay up-to-date with relevant practice.
  • Work with the multi-professional team and contribute to wider college development.
