Job summary

Supertemps in Rhyl is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help learners with ALN and to foster an inclusive learning environment.

You will work with tutors and support staff to provide personalised assistance, help learners develop independence and confidence, and support with materials, assessments and wellbeing. This temporary post starts end August/September, 19.5 hours weekly at £13.45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners in educational, training or vocational settings.
• Qualifications in ALN or related field, with willingness to develop further.
• Understanding of person-centred and inclusive learning practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, adaptable and supportive approach.
• Welsh language ability (conversational).
• Enhanced DBS clearance is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to learners with ALN.
• Collaborate with tutors and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Support learners to develop independence, confidence and resilience.
• Assist with learning activities, adapt materials and support assessments.
• Promote learner wellbeing, inclusion and maintain confidential records.
