Job summary

Maiden Erlegh Trust is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across a range of activities. You will work closely with teachers, SEND colleagues and students to enable participation, progress and independence in learning.

The role emphasises high expectations, positive relationships and inclusive practice, with opportunities to contribute to extracurricular activities and school life.

Qualifications

• Holds Level 2 qualifications in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent.
• Has Level 2 or equivalent in English and mathematics.
• Demonstrates effective questioning, observation and assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of teaching and learning with teachers to enable progress.
• Work with individual students and small groups to clarify instructions and promote independence.
• Assist with use of resources, equipment and materials during lessons.
• Monitor engagement and provide feedback to inform teaching approaches.
• Provide timely support during lessons including prompting and questioning.
• Contribute to assessment by observing progress and development areas.
• Support behaviour management to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Build positive relationships and promote confidence and resilience.
• Support students with SEND through targeted interventions.
• Assist with preparation of learning resources and extracurricular activities.
