Job summary

St Brendan's Sixth Form College is recruiting Inclusive Learning Assistants to join our Inclusive Learning Team. You will provide targeted support to students with additional needs to participate fully in learning and college life.

Ideal candidates will have experience with young people, an understanding of learning difficulties and GCSE Maths/English. We offer a collaborative environment, professional development and a commitment to inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people.

Working closely with students, teachers, families and external professionals, you will provide targeted support that enables students with additional needs to participate fully in both the academic and wider life of the College.

About the Role

As an Inclusive Learning Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students with additional educational needs, helping them to access learning, overcome barriers and develop greater independence.

• In small group sessions
• On a one-to-one basis
• During enrichment and wider college activities
• During unstructured times where additional support is required

You will:

• Support students with a range of additional needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
• Help students develop strategies to improve learning, confidence and independence
• Work closely with teachers to ensure students can fully access the curriculum
• Contribute to the planning, monitoring and review of student support programmes
• Promote inclusion in both academic and social settings across the College
• Support literacy, numeracy and study skills development where appropriate
• Act as a keyworker for identified students where required
• Contribute to examination support arrangements for students with additional needs
