Job summary

Westfield Secondary School in Sheffield is seeking an Early Years Inclusion Teacher to join our specialist Language Centre. You will lead inclusive teaching for young children with SEND, collaborating with Speech and Language Therapists and families to enable development and participation.

The role requires a qualified teacher with QTS, substantial EYFS experience, and ability to support multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic school setting. A child-centred, reflective approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with QTS and EYFS experience.
• Experience supporting children with SEND in Early Years.
• Ability to assess and plan inclusive learning.
• Strong communication with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inclusive EY experiences aligned to children’s developmental and communication needs.
• Observe and assess children to inform teaching strategies.
• Collaborate with Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary approach.
• Work with parents and carers as essential partners in their child’s learning and development.
• Support Early Years practitioners and settings to develop their confidence, knowledge and inclusive practice.
• Provide practical resources and strategies embedded in daily learning environments.
• Contribute to planning, assessment, review and transition for children receiving support.
• Promote ambitious but appropriate outcomes for children with SEND.
• Contribute to high-quality inclusive Early Years practice across Sheffield.
