Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking a Team Leader for the Younity – Hub at Wilfred Spencer to manage a day opportunities service for adults with learning disabilities. You will lead and supervise staff, plan activities, and ensure delivery of outcome-focused support.

You will supervise staff attendance, complete risk assessments, liaise with carers and health professionals, and foster a caring, inclusive environment that promotes dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 or Diploma 2 in health and social care is required.
• Active progress towards Diploma level 3 within agreed timescales.
• Experience with adults with learning disabilities is required.
• Lead, mentor and develop staff in group or individual settings.
• Meet practical care needs including manual handling and mobility assistance.

Responsibilities

• Provide line management and regular supervision to the team.
• Manage staff absence within attendance procedures and schedules.
• Design weekly activity planners and update outcome-focused plans.
• Complete risk assessments, positive handling plans, audits, and safety checks.
• Lead team meetings and liaise with families, carers and health professionals.
