Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is recruiting an Inclusion Support Assistant for a vibrant Newcastle secondary school, starting September. You will provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for KS3 and KS4 students, especially those with SEND and SEMH.

The role offers a long-term path with potential permanent appointment, weekly PAYE pay, and extensive CPD through Protocol Education's CPD Academy and Thrive training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in education, care or youth settings.
• Experience with SEND, SEMH, ASC or ADHD is highly desirable.
• Calm, patient and resilient individuals with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for KS3 and KS4 students.
• Help students with SEND/SEMH engage effectively in lessons.
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt activities and remove barriers to learning.
• Support emotional regulation, organisation and confidence in students.
• Foster positive behaviour, independence and resilience; build relationships with students, families and staff.

The Role

As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students across KS3 and KS4
• Help students with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs engage successfully in lessons
• Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities and remove barriers to education
• Support students with emotional regulation, organisation and confidence
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and resilience
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students, families and staff
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing school environment
