Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions for students with SEND.
  • Support pupils with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs, SEMH and MLD.
  • Work with teachers and the SENDCo to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Help students improve literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills.
  • Build trusting relationships to promote confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage engagement, attendance and positive participation across the school day.

The Role

As a SEND Intervention Mentor, you will:

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions for students with SEND
  • Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech & Language needs, SEMH and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Work alongside teachers and the SENDCo to implement personalised learning plans
  • Help students improve literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills
  • Build trusting relationships that promote confidence, independence and resilience
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Encourage engagement, attendance and positive participation across the school day

We're Looking For
  • Previous experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school or specialist setting
  • Experience delivering interventions or structured support programmes
  • Calm, patient and adaptable individuals
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping every student succeed

Graduates in Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Criminology, Childhood Studies or related subjects are also encouraged to apply.
