Job summary

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting an Inclusion Consultant to promote high inclusive practice in schools and settings and ensure effective SEND intervention and ongoing support for children, families, and settings.

Reporting to the Inclusion Co-ordinator, you will monitor and support teaching to raise standards, work with multi‑agency partners, and help schools meet individual needs through a graduated approach while enjoying flexible and agile working options.

Qualifications

• Must hold the qualification set out in the Person Specification and have strong SEND and Inclusion knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support the Inclusion Co-Ordinator to raise standards of achievement and improve teaching for children with SEND.
• Help schools meet the individual needs of all children with SEND through the graduated approach and whole‑school development.
• Promote inclusive practice and work with multi‑agency partners in supporting children with SEND.
• Help settings to work in partnership with parents and children.
• Demonstrate established practice as an outstanding SENCO in a school, MAT or LA setting.
• Enjoy flexible working arrangements including agile working.
