Job summary

Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an Inclusion Consultant to join the Inclusion Service. The role reports to the Inclusion Co-ordinator and focuses on promoting high inclusive practice in schools and settings, ensuring effective SEND intervention and ongoing support for children, families and settings.

  • The postholder must hold the appropriate qualification as set out in the attached Person Specification,
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of SEND and Inclusion
  • Established and evidenced practice as an outstanding practitioner/SENCO in a school, MAT or LA setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Inclusion Co-Ordinator to raise standards of achievement and improve the quality of teaching for children with SEND through monitoring, intervention, support, training and challenge to schools and settings.
  • Support schools to meet the individual needs of all children with SEND, focusing on those at risk of poor outcomes through the graduated approach implementation.
  • Promote and develop inclusive practice in schools, including multi-agency approaches working with children with SEND.
  • Help and support settings to work in partnership with parents and children.
