Job summary

Durham County Council invites applications for an Advisory and Inclusion Teacher to join our specialist SEND and Inclusion Support (SIS) Service. The post focuses on cognition and learning needs and involves consultation, assessment, intervention and collaboration with schools and families.

Applicants should hold QTS, have knowledge of SEND legislation, and be able to travel between schools. We offer a generous leave entitlement, a supportive multidisciplinary team and flexible hybrid working

Qualifications

• QTS is required.
• Up-to-date knowledge of SEND legislation.
• Experience in working with children with SEND, especially cognition and learning needs.
• Experience collaborating with professionals from other services and with parents/carers.
• Experience delivering training or workshops.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, assessment, advice, interventions and strategies to remove barriers to inclusion.
• Promote achievement of individuals and groups within educational settings.
• Collaborate with other services and parent/carers; work in a multi-disciplinary team.
