Job summary

Warwick College Group in England is seeking a SEN Team Leader to manage and coordinate Learning Mentors on a designated campus. You will help develop support for students with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, oversee EHCP learners, and work with external agencies and staff to promote inclusive education.

The role includes staff supervision, progress record keeping, mentoring students, and contributing to training.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths, or Level 2 equivalent.
• An appropriate professional qualification at Level 3.
• Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Previous experience of supporting students in an educational environment.
• An awareness of the needs of students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Experience of supervising.
• Engage in Team Teach Training.

Responsibilities

• Manage the team of Learning Mentors at each centre and support recruitment & selection, probation review and performance reviews.
• Communicate students' educational needs to lecturers and Personal Learning Advisers (PLAs) and ensure information is available on the eILP and at risk registers.
• Support College admissions with interview evenings and open events for prospective students and parents.
• Liaise with Head of Inclusion and Learning Support and Specialist Tutors on support issues for current and potential students.
• Mentor students outside the classroom/workshop through one-to-one sessions as instructed by leadership.
• Ensure learning support meets EHCP requirements and complete EHCP processes.
• Attend and contribute to student annual EHCP reviews; hold regular team meetings.
• Specialise in one area of learning difficulty to raise awareness and provide advice to staff and students.
• Contribute to LM training on local and national inclusive-education initiatives.
• Develop support groups for students with similar needs; organise lunchtime clubs and quiet areas.
• Attend teaching essentials training.
