Job summary

Acle Academy, part of The Wensum Trust, is seeking an Inclusion Learning Mentor to join our supportive team. The role focuses on helping students overcome barriers to attendance, attainment and behaviour, using a relational approach to empower learners to reach their full potential.

The post requires an understanding of engaging diverse learners, with an interest in emotional, social and mental health needs.

Qualifications

Candidates should have knowledge and understanding of how to engage and motivate children and of some of the barriers to learning which may affect children.
You need to have extremely high expectations to ensure children regardless of gender, ethnicity and religion achieve to the best of their ability.
An interest in working with students with a wide range of needs including emotional, social and mental health needs is essential.
We are looking for candidates with the potential to be outstanding and would like to hear from both experienced practitioners and those new to the profession.

Responsibilities

Support students to overcome barriers to attendance, attainment and behaviour to help them reach their full potential.
Work as part of a team and use initiative in addressing individual student needs.
Develop positive relationships with students, families and the wider school community to promote wellbeing.
Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding policies.
