Job summary

Somerset County Council is recruiting an Inclusion Lead (Specialist Supported Employment) within the Careers & Pathways team. You will work with Learning Mentors to support transitions for young people with SEND, build employer links, and promote inclusive pathways across schools, post-16 providers and employers.

You will lead on improving participation, progression and adulthood outcomes, using training, coaching and data to track progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND or vulnerability.
• Ability to respond to a wide range of complex needs.
• Experience working in Key Stage 4 and/or post-16 settings.
• Knowledge of post-16 pathways and careers guidance.
• Understanding of child and adolescent development, including disability and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Drive inclusive education across Somerset and support education stakeholders to help young people reach their full potential.
• Provide expert advice and practical solutions to education partners.
• Lead a small team of Learning Mentors and promote best practice across the team.
• Monitor progress, maintain records, and use data to ensure the right support is in place.
• Develop employer relationships and inclusive work experience opportunities.
• Travel across Somerset to meet stakeholders and maximise impact.
