Job description

This opportunity is available as an internal or external secondment. Both arrangements will run until 31 August 2027.

We are looking for an exceptional Inclusion leader who shares this ambition and is passionate about ensuring every child, regardless of need or circumstance, receives the support, provision, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Do you have the expertise, credibility, and influence to develop inclusive practice across multiple schools?

Can you inspire and support SENDCos, Inclusion Leaders, Attendance Champions, Behaviour Leads, and senior leaders to deliver exceptional outcomes for children?

Flying High Partnership is seeking an exceptional Inclusion Lead Practitioner to join our Education Team on a one-year secondment. This is a unique opportunity to shape inclusion practice across our partnership while continuing to maintain an in‑school inclusion leadership role for part of the week.

This role would particularly suit:

  • Experienced SENDCos and Inclusion Leaders looking to extend their impact beyond a single school
  • Current and aspiring system leaders with a strong track record of improving outcomes for children with SEND and additional needs
  • Leaders passionate about developing others and strengthening inclusion practice across a wider partnership
  • Professionals who thrive on collaboration, coaching, and driving sustainable improvement

If you are committed to ensuring every child belongs, participates, and succeeds, this could be a career-defining opportunity.

About Flying High

Flying High Partnership is a thriving multi-academy trust of 39 primary schools across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire.

We are driven by a clear vision: Together we will create unique, exceptional and sustainable schools that inspire communities and empower children.

Founded in 2012, we believe in the power of meaningful collaboration to help schools reach their full potential while supporting others along the way.

Our Partnership celebrates individuality, champions continuous improvement and ensures every child thrives. Through high-quality professional learning, leadership development and a culture of collaboration, we are committed to growing exceptional teachers, support staff and leaders who make a lasting difference to children's lives.

Whether working in our schools or as part of our Central Team, every colleague plays an important role in helping us deliver outstanding experiences and opportunities for the children and communities we serve.

The Role

This role sits at the heart of our commitment to inclusion.

We are seeking an exceptional Inclusion leader to join our Education Team as an Inclusion Lead Practitioner. Working alongside the Director of Inclusion and the existing Inclusion Lead Practitioner, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our Inclusion Strategy, supporting schools to strengthen practice across SEND, attendance and behaviour.

This is an exciting opportunity to extend your influence beyond your own school and contribute to improving outcomes for children across the Flying High Partnership. You will provide targeted support to schools, develop the capacity of SENDCos and Inclusion leaders, lead professional learning and contribute to inclusion reviews, quality assurance activities and improvement planning.

The role will involve regular travel across our schools and close collaboration with school leaders, the Inclusion Team and wider Education Team. For the remainder of your working week, the successful candidate will continue to fulfil an in‑school SEND/Inclusion leadership role.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the delivery of the Partnership's Inclusion Strategy across SEND, Attendance, and Behaviour
  • Providing targeted support to schools, including those requiring rapid improvement
  • Coaching and developing SENDCos, Attendance Champions, Behaviour Leads, and school leaders
  • Leading and contributing to inclusion reviews, quality assurance activities, and improvement planning
  • Supporting schools with complex inclusion cases and decision‑making
  • Developing and delivering professional learning for leaders, teachers, and support staff
  • Building strong partnerships with external agencies and specialist services
  • Identifying and sharing excellent inclusion practice across the partnership
  • Contributing to the development of Partnership-wide systems, resources, and approaches that strengthen inclusion provision
What We Offer

At Flying High Partnership, we are committed to investing in our people and creating an environment where colleagues can thrive.

As part of our team, you'll benefit from:

  • The opportunity to influence inclusion practice and outcomes across 39 schools
  • A key leadership role within an ambitious and values-driven partnership
  • Access to high-quality professional learning, leadership development, and career progression opportunities through our Futures programme
  • Structured CPD and a strong culture of continuous improvement
  • Membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme with significant employer contributions and valuable life assurance benefits
  • Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme providing 24/7 wellbeing, counselling, financial, and legal support for you and your family
  • A culture that values collaboration, celebrates success, and puts children at the heart of every decision
About You

We are looking for an exceptional Inclusion leader who combines strong expertise with a genuine passion for improving outcomes for children.

You will:

  • Have a strong track record of successful Inclusion leadership and improving outcomes for children.
  • Hold QTS and the National Award for SENDCos and/or NPQ SEND.
  • Have extensive knowledge of SEND, attendance, behaviour and inclusive practice.
  • Is skilled in coaching, mentoring and developing others.
  • Can build strong relationships and provide both support and challenge to leaders.
  • Shares our vision of creating unique, exceptional and sustainable schools that inspire communities and empower children.
