Job summary

Avon Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an Inclusion Support Officer to develop inclusion priorities into practical activity across the Service. You will provide coordination, guidance and delivery support on equality initiatives, including handling Equality Impact Assessments and inclusion accreditations.

The role supports compliance with the Equality Act 2010, the Public Sector Equality Duty, and related equality, diversity and inclusion requirements while fostering an inclusive workplace

Qualifications

• Equality and diversity knowledge
• Awareness of Equality Act 2010 requirements
• Understanding of Public Sector Equality Duty

Responsibilities

• Support the Service to meet equality, diversity and inclusion requirements under the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty.
• Encourage colleague participation across staff networks and the I CARE Allies programme.
• Act as the first point of contact for Equality Impact Assessment enquiries and manage the shared mailbox within agreed response times.
• Support staff networks and I CARE Allies to develop an inclusive workplace aligned to the Inclusion delivery plan and People, Culture and Leadership Strategy.
• Plan and deliver events, communications and learning opportunities that promote inclusion and belonging.
