Job summary

The Portsmouth Academy seeks a Teaching Assistant to work in The Bridge Inclusion Centre, supporting students with Educational Health and Care Plans. You will assist in a range of activities, providing one-to-one and small-group support to enable access to learning.

The role requires motivation, energy and commitment, with strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to establish positive relationships with students and their carers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working with young people to support their physical and mental wellbeing.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Educated to Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics.
• You will have high levels of motivation, energy and commitment with a reflective approach to the role and the ability to build positive relationships with students and their parents/carers.

Responsibilities

• Enable students to access learning by supervising and assisting them (one to one and in small groups) across a wide range of activities and supported learning.
• Support students' physical and mental wellbeing as part of your role.
• Build positive relationships with students and their parents/carers.
