Job summary

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in The Bridge Inclusion Centre, supporting students with Educational Health and Care Plans. You will contribute to a dedicated team focused on enabling learners with complex needs to access the curriculum through one-to-one and small-group assistance.

Hours are 8am–3.30pm or 8.30am–4.00pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for professional development and a supportive working environment within our inclusive Trust.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working with young people to support their physical and mental wellbeing.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Educated to a minimum requirement of Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and their parents/carers.

Responsibilities

• The Teaching Assistant enables students to access learning by supervising and assisting them (one to one and in small groups) across a wide range of activities and supported learning.
