Job summary

Ken Stimpson Academy in the United Kingdom is seeking an Inclusion & Care Coordinator to support vulnerable learners, including Children in Care, SEND and SEMH needs, and attendance challenges.

You will deliver pastoral support, coordinate interventions, liaise with SEND and safeguarding teams, maintain records, and help families, carers and professionals to remove barriers to learning and promote wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH needs and/or attendance difficulties.
• Understands trauma-informed and relational approaches when working with young people.
• Skilled communicator who can build productive relationships with students, carers, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage a varied workload.
• Can inspire, motivate, and support young people to achieve their potential.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Believes every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of starting point or circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentoring and pastoral support for vulnerable learners, including Children in Care, students with SEND, SEMH needs and attendance-related difficulties.
• Support students experiencing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) through personalised intervention and reintegration plans.
• Deliver or facilitate targeted interventions focused on emotional wellbeing, confidence, resilience, organisation and engagement.
• Liaise with the SEND, Safeguarding and Attendance teams to ensure joined-up support and effective communication.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions, outcomes and student progress.
• Contribute to reviews, meetings and multi-agency planning for vulnerable learners.
