Job summary

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a Behaviour & Inclusion Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hounslow. You will work with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEN team to support pupils who may need emotional regulation, social interaction or engagement in learning.

This role concentrates on promoting positive behaviour, building confidence and resilience, and helping pupils access learning in a calm, safe, and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school, childcare or youth support setting.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND or additional learning needs.
• A calm, patient and resilient approach.
• The ability to build trust and positive connections with pupils.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for inclusion, wellbeing and pupil development.
• An understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice.

Responsibilities

• Providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils requiring additional behavioural or emotional support
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Supporting emotional regulation and social skills development
• Implementing behaviour support strategies in line with school policies
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive peer relationships
• Helping create an inclusive environment where all pupils can succeed
