Job summary

Malcolm Arnold Preparatory School is seeking an Inclusion Support Worker to join our safeguarding and pastoral support team. You will work with pupils, contribute to lesson planning, monitor progress and provide one-to-one mentoring as required.

Fixed term role until 31 August 2027, 32.5 hours per week, term-time only. Salary NJC 8 scales (£27,709 FTE, pro rata £21,378) with Local Government Pension Scheme and wellbeing benefits. Experience with children and safeguarding knowledge essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and their families in an academic setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and practice.
• Willingness to undergo any relevant training.

Responsibilities

• Attend internal/external safeguarding and attendance meetings as required.
• Develop appropriate and flexible lesson plans for pupils and adjust learning activities as needed.
• Create Individual Behaviour Plans with the Pastoral team and monitor impact.
• Supervise students during unstructured times (before school, breaks, lunchtime, after school).
• Promote a calm, ordered learning environment and monitor pupil behaviour to avoid disruption.
• Contribute to ongoing assessment and recording of pupil development with the Pastoral Lead.
