Job summary

West Hill Primary School is seeking two compassionate, resilient Teaching Assistants to join the Inclusion Base team.

You will support the Inclusion Base Teacher in providing a safe, nurturing environment for pupils with SEMH and SEND, helping them access learning and make progress academically, socially and emotionally.

The role is term-time only, 35 hours per week, 8:00 am–3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with safeguarding duties and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH.
• Demonstrates commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.
• Ability to respond calmly to challenging or dysregulated behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Inclusion Base Teacher to deliver a safe, structured, nurturing learning environment.
• Provide high-quality learning, pastoral and regulation support to enable pupils to access education and make progress.
• Collaborate with mainstream staff to support pupils’ social and emotional development.
